The «Tourist Remover» is part of the FutureLab's Online Photo Manager
This tool remove moving objects (such as tourists or passing cars) from your photos. This is a great thing for processing your travel photos. Take multiple photos from the same scene and the «Tourist Remover» blends them into a composite photo without any interfering elements.

When shooting the sequence, try to capture the same area each time. Hand-held shots work reasonably well. However using a tripod or a fixed support, such as a wall, usually improves the results.
Avoid crowds of people! Each part of the background you want to appear in the final image must be captured on at least two photos. The more picture with empty background the better. With too many people on the picture it is usually hard to get rid of them.
Take a minimum of three pictures. However, the number of photos does not determine the quality of the result. Best results are achieved when unwanted objects appear as differently as possible on each photo in the series.
The lighting should be the same for each photo. If possible with your camera model, set the aperture and shutter speed manually. This is usually the case when compact cameras are used and the same area is photographed.

The only thing you need to do is take 3-10 pictures of the subject (by hand, no tripod required), and then Tourist Remover averages the pictures and removes anything that only appears in one of the shots (such as moving people and cars). The tool will not remove anything that appears in two of the shots, such as a parked car. So when taking the pictures and when selecting the ones to use the tool with, make sure the items you want removed only appear in one shot. The rest of the imaging suite is pretty interesting and also does things like stitch panoramas together from several images. The interface takes a little getting used to, but basically once you learn the convention of dragging the images you want to edit onto to the tool you want to use, then it's all pretty easy.
